Monday AM Keynote - Andrea Fruhling

Brick by Brick: Unlocking innovation through metaphors & LEGO Serious Play

Andrea Fruhling is the Founding Director of Doubleknot Works and a Certified Organizational Coach (UBC). She is the co-author of the recently published workbook Career Wayfinder: Discovering your career through delightfully practical projects (2024).

Andrea teaches and mentors coaches pursuing certification and is the lead instructor for the Career Coaching Masterclass at the University of British Columbia. She developed and has delivered the Certification in Hope-Action Theory & Practice course internationally, supporting others in finding meaningful ways to foster growth and increase individual and collective hopefulness. Andrea also leads the International Coaching Federation’s Global Career Coaching Community of Practice.

As a trained facilitator in the LEGO® Serious Play® Method and Materials, Andrea incorporates metaphor and creative approaches into her coaching and teaching. She works with a wide range of clients—from tech startups and Indigenous communities to youth and senior leaders. Her work is grounded in creativity, strengths-based learning, and practical, hope-focused engagement.
